VW Beetle Bike Rack® with Golf Bag Carrier, Ski Rack, Snowboard Rack and Luggage Rack Options     1998+.    (Also available for Golf Jetta GTI Cabrio Passat)

The VW New Beetle Bike Rack for the Coupe and Convertible is shown installed in the Pea Shooter Pipes in the picture on the right.  The Pipes alone are shown below.  They  are the same size and distance apart as the exhaust pipes on the original Beetle which were affectionately know as "pea shooters".  The Pipes serve as receivers for all versions of the Pea Shooter Rack in a manner similar to trailer hitch racks seen on SUV's.  They add an attractive retro look when not in use.  Golf Bag Carrier, Luggage Rack, Ski Rack, and Snow board Rack Options are available.   When not in use, the Rack is easily removed in less than a minute and can be stored in the  trunk.

Receiver Pipes are shown at left installed cleanly under bumper.  Pipes and all installation hardware is included with the Rack.

 

Installation requires about an hour, no lift.

 

Bike Rack Arms are height adjustable to level bikes.  Carries 1, 2 or 3 bikes.
 

Bike Arms fold in flat and are easily removable.

 

All trunks open without touching the Rack

            Locking Accessory

As one of our customers told us, "my bike's worth more than my car so this lock better work!" An exaggeration perhaps, but we understand.  The optional Security Kit ($25) consists of two long-shanked padlocks (same keys) and a heavy duty vinyl coated straight steel cable.  The first lock goes through a hole in both the right side Pea Shooter Pipe and the right Leg of the Rack, locking the Rack to the car.  The cable goes through the bikes' frames and one or both wheels of each bike.  The cable padlocks to both ends of the cable and a higher up hole through the right Leg.  
           Golf Bag Carrier and Luggage Rack
The Golf Bag Carrier - Luggage Rack attaches to the same Legs as the Bike Rack shown above and uses the Receiver Pipes for support.  A 12" x 24" Platform carries  two pieces of luggage, two golf bags, or one of each  The Carrier has been tested at speed to safely support 100 pounds.          Ski Racks and Snowboard Racks - the SnowRack
The SnowRack for carrying skis and snowboards is a stainless steel carrier attached to one or both of the Legs of the Rack to hold the tails of the skis or boards. A SnowRack Arm which telescopes into a Leg holds the upper part of the skis or boards with secure clamps. One SnowRack will carry 2-3 pairs of skis or one snowboard. A Second Snowboard Option is available. Bike Racks for the Beetle Coupe are $329 for the height adjustable trunk storable rack which carries 1, 2 or 3 bikes.  The Beetle Convertible Bike Rack has the same capacity and is $349.  SnowRacks for all Beetle models are $349.  A second Snowboard Carrier costs $35.  Capacity can be doubled with 2 SnowRacks.  The Luggage Rack/GolfBag Carriers are $389. . The Security Kit is $25. UPS Ground freight for the Bike or SnowRack is $20-$30.  Multi-sport Racks are priced as follows.  Bike+Snow $449. Bike OR Snow + Golf/Luggage $489. Bike+Snow+Golf/Luggage $589.  All Racks include the Pea Shooter Pipes and all installation hardware.
